tubs for cross...

i hear tubs are alot better for cross...

so im thinking of using them this season


so how should i go round to doing it, i run the usual 32 spoke wheels atm, should i just get them re rimmed onto a tub rim ?

Tubs are great for cross if you are serious. You can run them at lower pressures and avoid pinching them - get TUFO - keep an eye on ebay etc.

Unless you can rebuild the wheels yourself, it will probably be more expensive to buy tub rims and pay labour to rebuild, than pick up a couple of pairs of tub wheels on ebay. If you are on a budget, try to get 2 pair of tub wheels and put standard treads on them, keep 2 pair of clinchers and try get some green michellin muds (used) for the muddy courses. This gives you tread options depending on the conditions.

yeh i road a pair of some ones green ones last season, and there pritty good...

am trying to get two cross bikes for this season, so once i get them sorted i'll be looking more into wheels...
