yes - loads of people use them
Thanks. Checked the Tubeless tyre rims which seem to be 25", most of those advertised start at 650mm which looks to be too large. The wheels are from mid 1960's. Someone told me I'd struggle to get replacements now. I guess I could invest in 2 larger replacement rims as long as mafac's still operated OK.

If you're looking at non-700c sizes then you'll struggle a little. 650c are fairly scarce but can be found easily enough but finding other sizes is a bit needle haystack stuff.

I guess the rims may be rather worn so why not put some new ones on in 700c size, you could then use clinchers, tubs are expensive, a pain to repair and really don't offer much of an advantage for he road cyclist. The bike looks interesting, a quality bike in it's time, around mid seventies I would say. The suicide levers look a bit out of place but the lugwork is lovely. Worth restoring I would say. Don't know who or what ATR is though, maybe someone else on here might know, maybe it's eroneous as the paint job would have been applied later.

ATR? I bought the bike complete (not suicides-these were for my daughter) about 1964-5 and it was second hand then. 700's wouldn't fit as distance from centre of spindle to underside of front forks and bridge of rear forks is 360mm.

It was the only transfer we could find which my daughter liked - ATB = all terrain bike, but obviously it wasn't!
I'll ask at local bike stores what the overall diameter including the clinchers would be. Can then check if brakes would adjust to revised rim size.
