Avoided.
Road tyres have too much pressure/psi. The slime causes an awful mess.
Use once and you'll never use again.
Best saved for MTB's and lower pressure tyres.

Look after your tyres and you shouldn't have to worry too much about punctures. By that I mean check your tyres before, during and after every ride. Get into the habit of doing so. It only takes a few seconds. Dig out anything that is sticking to the tyre. If you leave it then any crap will work it's way in and cause a puncture.

Just aaying getting some good tyres is helpful. Im after tubes not tyres. I appreciate good quality tyres help but they dont stop all punctures.

Stop worrying about punctures, carry a couple of spare tubes and a pump. They will happen when you least expect and in inconvenient places and in bad weather, they hopefully won't happen often if you check tyres for embedded Road debris and ensure they're pumped up to the right pressure before you go.

That why I'm asking about tubes. I'm happy with my current tyres. They are always pumped before a ride. I carry 1 tube at the moment but need spares.

I'm with the no-slime brigade for road tyres. Maybe for tubeless (though a recent description of what happens when one flats that I read put me off them too!). I've always carried 2 spare tubes and a couple of Park self adhesive patches as emergency get-me-home measures.

How long does it take to whip out a tube and bung in the spare? Slime might work bit it's messy and makes repairing the tube difficult if not impossible. As others say the key is to check/maintain your tyres so as to avoid punctures in first place.
