Presta or Schrader? Or woods?

sounds strange - if its a presta, have you tightened it properly before putting the cap on? Schrader can be tightened with a special little tool you can buy in any car shop such as halfords. If you're still using woods valves it's time to buy new tubes!

Forget it. Now I found what it looks like, I tightened it up with a pair of needle nosed pliers. I got 45 psi in it for now with a hand pump. If it holds up till the morning I will put the rest in then.

Thanks for the help

Although Mickle has already answered the question, I'd take the valve core right out & oil it with fine oil - 3 in 1 is great - & screw it back in
