Why don't you want carbon? I don't think you'll find any wheels with a full alloy rim - they'd be so heavy! You might be able to find old Campag wheels (Vento/Shamal).

My guess is that you don't want a full carbon rim...fair enough as they can be fragile. I suggest Hed Jets or Mavic Cosmic Carbones which have a carbon fairing bonded onto an alloy rim....this means they can be mended in the unlikely event of a crash and also trued easily! They ride more like a standard alloy rim as the spokes are attached to that instead of the carbon.

Nobody makes a 50mm alloy rim. The closest you'll get is the H+Son rim at 40mm (Dodici do a 40mm rim too) and the new Velocity B43 at 43mm. They're heavy though, 550gms or so for the H+Son and a whopping 750+ for the Velocity. Too heavy for normal applications IMO.

If you're looking at full wheelsets you'll struggle to find a pair of alloy wheels with rims over 30mm.

I'd bite the bullet and go carbon.

Yeah got a problem with this weight thing been looking at the sram s 60s their quoted weight is 828g for front 922g for rear . Makes ones youve quoted look feather weight. Whats a reasonable weight then if sram and zipp together cant do it.

the weight of the rims he quated where just the rims, the weight of the sram wheels are for the full wheel, including spokes and hubs

Unless you ride particularly lumpy TT courses, wheel weight is maybe not such a critical factor, heavier wheels once cranked up to speed take no more effort to keep spinning unless you have to accelerate and decelerate a lot, in terms of conserving momentum it can be an advantage. Good aerodynamics will easily offset grams of weight.

sram wheels are heavy and not very gd tbh, i'd sta well away
Aero trumps weight, even on rolling courses.

Nothing wrong with the SRAMs - they are from a similar mould to pre dimpled Zipp 404s. They are a very similar weight to the Mavic Cosmic Carbones and Hed Jet 6s and within a similar price bracket.

Are we talking tub or clincher?
