Looking for recommendations here. Can't find much availability or choice of skinsuits from the usual online retailers, also looking for some lightweight aero shoe covers as most available from the usual suspects are heavier commuting/winter types.

Anyone got pointers to some good recommendations?

Thx

Other than club skinsuits the most popular ones at TT's are the Assos Chronosuit, Castelli Bodypaint and SMART Aero Technology.

Castelli and SMART Aero Technology also make dedicated aero overshoes. Any lycra overshoe will be good enough though, most brands make some. I bought cheap ones because they are fragile and wear out quick of you don't be very careful and avoid walking anywhere with them on.

You can also get 1 off items in block colours from ChampSys etc, so their Speedsuit is worth a look.

I'm a big fan of the Castelli San Marino speed suit and the Castelli thermo suit... both are exceptional garments imho

I race in a San-Remo, but it is no where near as nice as the bodypaint skinsuit for TT use

The bodypaint has long sleeves which is good and would be my preference, it has thumb loops to keep the sleeves in place so if you are lanky, they don't ride up, there is a small flap on the back to cover the top of your race number to smooth air flow over it.

The annoying thing about buying nice speedsuits is that you then have to pin numbers onto them and they end up holey unless you get them re-inforced.

Fair point @Rob3rt but I would think perhaps the San-Remo would get a little more use, as its very versatile and looks great on a road bike. Not seen the body paint TT kit though, do you intend to get it?

I was very tempted but I am "waiting" now as the season it pretty much over. I would have been using a ChampSys speedsuit in club colours but the turnaround was slow and would have taken about half the season to get it and of course at that price I would want to be certain to get the right size which is problematic when you can't try it on without a right mess on. So atm I just race in the San Remo which is okay, could do with being even shorter in the front though. I will sort a skinsuit ready for next season over the winter but am now waiting to see what the club do re. club kit, because if we change to a new manufacturer I will likely get a near custom speedsuit in my club colours from them.

My clubmate just got a Castelli Bodypaint suit (after his club speedsuit was lost in a fire when the seamstress who was adding tabs to it burnt down). I will inspect it tomorrow morning
