TT Skin suits

Hi, anybody got any experience with sizing for skin suits? Obviously they need to be tight, I'm a medium (5,11, and just under 12 st) generally so would a medium be ok, or do they come up big or small? Cheers for any help. Justin.

Depends who makes them, mine have always been made to measure.

Are you in a club? We had some samples sent out by a couple of manufacturers to try on for size.

Yep, our club sells em.........at a rather high price, was hoping to blag one on the cheap off flea bay. Don't want anything too flash or expensive!

Sounds like we are similar dimensions, I've always get medium

I'm the same height and similar weight to you. I tried a Giodana skin suit on in medium and while I could get it on, just about, it wasn't as good a fit as the large that I bought.
It could just be the usual strange Italian sizing, the large is skin tight and isn't the easiest thing to get on, but once on is a superb fit.

I am 6'3" fairly lean and have a large Giordana skinsuit. Yes it is a pain to put on but that is part of the point of them. You do not want something that starts flapping when you are bent over in an aero position on the bike. You want something with as few seams as possible stretched pretty tight. Otherwise you will gain little more than you would with a jersey/bib combo.

Thanks for the replies, I'm now torn between large and medium! Large just seems wrong for me as nothing else I have is "large"! But buying unseen means I don't really want to faff about returning stuff, decisions decisions........

They are very stretchy, I think I have quite a long body which is why I went for the large. If you are medium in everything else you wear, I'd start there.
