Hello - any a dive on the below would be appreciated!
I recently got knocked off my bike by an inconsiderate taxi and the bike got written off. Out of this not so great situation, I have got some insurance money and can get myself a better bike then I had before :-) I was previously riding an Edinburgh co op Courier 27 (now discontinued). I ride about 15miles per day to work and also would like to do some longer weekend trips with panniers full.
I am trying to decide between:
A specialized Source - which I rode today and seemed great, looks good - but a bit over budget.

and
A Edinburgh co op Ridgeback - don't have the chance to try this out, but is quite a bit cheaper.

What do you think comparing the techy stuff? Or does anyone else have any recommendations for around the £400 mark (and I would quite like pannier rack/ mudguards for that…)
