Hi folks!

Having a bit of a nightmare whilst trying to pump up my tyres. They're presta valves and I've got the Lezyne Road Drive pump with the vesta flex hose. The problem is after I've unscrewed everything and I've tapped the valve to make sure the air is shooting out, I attach the flex hose and it fits snuggly etc and screws on fine, then when I try to pump up the tyre the pump basically stops halfway down as if the air isn't going anywhere.

I've watched various youtube videos to check I'm not making any monumental daft errors in the preparation but can't put my finger on it. Any ideas?

Have you tried a different pump?

Sometimes happens to me in same circumstances, what I think is happening is, when you unscrew the little screw on the valve and attach the flex for the pump, it tightens the screw on the valve to the lock position preventing air getting in, then when you cannot pump any air in, you unscrew the flex and it untightens the screw again and leaves you wondering what is going on.

The solution is to ensure the screw on the valve is fully unscrewed and to enure that when you fit the flex to make sure it is perfectly square on to the valve.

Your next problem will be with Continental and Swalbe innertubes, when you unscrew the flex, the valve will unscrew with it. If it does screw the valve down tight with pliers after aplying threadlock
