I have an old Raleigh Winner road bike, or as it was called in the past, a racing bike.

I noticed a couple of days ago two broken spokes, so took it to a friend, who is a keen, although amateur bicycle mechanic, thinking it would be an easy fix.

Unfortunately he is unable to remove the cassette, saying he would need a special tool, the ones he has for the job do not fit this particular cassette.

I see it has Malliard on the outermost ring. I have no idea, but I assume this means the whole set of 5 rings is Malliard.

What tool is required, or at least what version of the 'cassette removal tool' is needed. I told my friend I would buy it, so he can add to his vast collection of bike tools, after of course fixing my bike. Are they available online ?

Thank you very much for any advice provided.

if your lbs cannot remove it i have read that a 27mm nut will slip in to the splines and allow you to remove the freewheel. I have never tried it though so no guarantees.
