As much as I love the new bike, its weak point for me are the brakes.

I've put up with them for a month now and had enough of clinging on for dear life down steep hills trying to slow down (expecting comments of "why do you want to slow down", so beat you to it )

Standard current brakes are Tektro wide canti on the front and Tektro narrow canti on the rear.

Any pointers on upgrading the standard brakes/set up on a 2011 Tricross Sport please

Just read the reviews on the ASUs and they appear to be the dogs danglies, but are a bit on the expensive side

Maybe Swiss stop pads?,still expensive for what they are though

If it comes to it I may invest in the Avids but would prefer seeing as I've just spent £300 on wheels/tyres/seat for the Tricross, a slightly cheaper method (steel toe cap boots dragging on the tarmac?)
