tricross fixie to "normal"

Hi all

got my eye on one of the above. How hard would it be to put a "normal" set of gears on to it?

You mean derailleur type? if so then not easy, the frame has no fixing point for the rear mech. A hub gear might be an option.

I'm assuming you are looking at a Specialized Singlecross

If you aren't convinced then don't buy one, convert an old hack instead and try that.

Although I think you can get mech hangers that will fit on the axle.

Even hub gear options will be limited as you'll need one that will fit the 120 mm rear dropout.

They do seem to sell well on ebay. If you get a decent price for one and decide you dont like ityou should be able to sell it on with a minimal overall cost. You might even make a bit if your lucky!
