Triban 500/500SE

Hi there - I am buying my other half a surprise first road bike (I have no idea) - I am wanting to buy a second-hand Decathlon Triban 500SE and think I have found one but it was advertised as a 500.. I asked if it was a 500SE and the guy said yes... is there any way of knowing just by looking at the bike if it is a 500 or 500SE?? Just so I dont get the wrong one... Thanks so much in advance

Best thing would be to google some pics - the differences are reasonably apparent. Colourway is different, as is the fork shape/material. It would be difficult to pass one off as the other, IMO.

Blue hoods and the group set ( 8 speed microshift) give the SE away.
Also the SE has the SE decals on the frame.

Yep, that's the 500, unless the hoods have been changed ( very unlikely).
