Hi, I bought a used Triban 3 a few months ago so I'm not sure if they're the original pedals but I'd assume that they are. I took off the foot cage thing as that was incredibly annoying. Now, however, the pedals aren't the same on both sides and the seem to naturally fall to the wrong side.

It's pretty annoying so I was wondering if I were to buy new pedals, what should I buy?

You could go for double-sided SPD pedals such as the M520s. They are pretty cheap and you can clip in either side of them. You would need some SPD-compatible shoes too, such as the ones that ALDI are selling tomorrow. The cleats are recessed into the soles so you can walk in the shoes without sliding about.

Same with any single side pedal, my SPDs are the same so get a double sided or just a standard flat pedal if you don't want to go clipping

Yeah I'm not keen on going to clip in, don't think it'll end well and I don't really cycle enough to justify the price. What are some good pedals that I could get then?

Thanks for the help! ^_^

That's quite a way out of my price range! Are there any good ones for under say £15?

Thanks.

Or just a basic metal pedal for a tenner. Watch your shins though! Anything cheaper will be no better than what you have

But online and you'll need to buy a pedal spanner to go with, if you don't know anyone who has one

Hi,

The Triban3 has half toe clips, which are needed for pedals designed for full toeclips,
so you can only use the pedals the right way up, as you note they are singe sided.

If you just want pedals, MTB style are the best, AFAICT.

Personally iI've got full toeclips on my road bike, and can't imagine
half toeclips being "incredibly annoying" at all on a roadbike,

I use a set of cast aluminium pedals I bought off Ebay for about £4.50. I've done about 3k miles on them, and they've been fine. I never need to think about them, which is about all you can expect of a set of pedals (barring fancy performance types, possibly). Pedals that settle the wrong way up would drive me nuts!
