So I finally persuaded my lovely wife to buy me a Triban 3 for an early Christmas / Birthday present (40 this year). So we jump in the car with the Grandson and the heavily pregnant daughter and off to Warrington Decathlon. On the way up my old Espace starts playing up but we make it.
Obviously I checked the stock levels before I left and it said five. When I get to the store they've all been sold! So I asked about the display one and the lad says, sure but we need to change the tyres.
Fast forward 45 minutes and I'm outside the store cycling around in circles like a big kid ^_^
Back in the car to go to Ikea around the corner and bump the car cuts out and won't start. RAC called and another hour passes the car's running and the patrolman follows us for a few miles as we head home.
15 miles from home the car cuts out again and another hour passes before we're on our way. Finally get home after five hours for a half hour journey!
It was dark when I got a chance to try the bike on the open road. First impression is that the gear change is not as smooth as my SRAM set-up on my commuter. My opinion it needs proper adjusting. Tried the drops for the first time and it scared me!
Overall very impressed and excited about getting some miles under my belt.

I thought similar about the gear changes. Most of the time they are flawless but on the odd occasion it can be a bit clunky. Great bike though, I'm in my 2nd week commuting and loving it. Can really throw it up hills etc
