I don't mind that its made to order. Happy to wait. I'm not sure which Dawes model you're referring to, but if I was designing my own commuting bike, I'd probably end up with something almost exactly like the Milk RDA.

Sorry Mattsr. The Dawes Nomad is now discounted from £1,500 to £1,200. It is complete with pannier racks and mud guards but does not have disk brakes and as I understand it to fit disk brakes you would have to change the front forks, havent costed it up yet but it may be worth while.

I think a new contender has just entered the market- it seems to be such a new model that there are no reviews as yet. It certainly looks as though it ticks all the main boxes- and it's a bit of a looker as well!!

There is a Ghost dealer about eight miles from us and he is keen to do deals I am also looking at Planet X, which is cheaper but has not got the bits and pieces. I am now looking for a delivery time of late April mid May My normal LBS is good but can not deliver with disk brakes

Trek Uk are not importing the Trek Soho 2012, which appers to have the Alfine11 hub, apparently they still have 2010 model in stock. A great pity as by all accounts the 2012 is a great bike. Now wondering if it will be cost effective to buy an old model with the Alfine 8 and upgrade it to the Alfine 11, just one of many possibilities that may suit my budget of £1,300
