Trek Model Confusion. Help Needed...

Hi all,

I'm in the market for a 2nd hand commuter/hybrid. Nothing too flash, around £100 or so. I am going to see a Trek 7100fx tonight and the fella reckons it is a 2008 model. Googling it I find there are Trek 7100fx and also Trek 7.1FX. I am bit confused. Did one model supersede the other or are they different models. Which one is better???

If you go onto the Trek website and look under "compare" you should find a 7.1FX and a 7100 but no 7100FX. Even if you go into the "Archives" under "support" there is no 7100fx, or even search for 7100FX there is still no reference to one.

But if you do a search on the internet for a Trek 7100FX there is plenty of references, strange.

The 7XXX series has front suspension, the 7.X series does not.
