Trek FX3 or Ridgeback Velocity?

I now cycle to work, which is approximately 20 miles round trip, and was recommended buying a hybrid bike, as the route is mainly roads through south London but with some tracks through parks. I have test ridden many and narrowed it down to a Trek FX3 and a Ridgeback Velocity but cannot decide which one? I prefer the lighter frame and there's more gears with the Trek but prefer the brakes, adjustable handlebars and style with the Ridgeback. Can anyone help or recommend which one I should get, as they're both in the £500 range?! Thank you.

Why do you need more gears riding on paths which are presumably pretty flat as is Streatham to Central London (if that's your destination)

Buy the one your heart leads you to if the head can't decide which I suspect is the Ridgeback if you prefer the aesthetic

Thanks for your reply. I cycle in to Richmond Park, not central London. The number of gears aren't important! I simply cannot decide between the two bikes - the specs are:

I'm a fan of Trek (I've got an FX), but as Vickster says this is more of a decision of the heart, so go with the one that stirs you more.
