as per title. selling the brompton and planning to get one of these and turning it to fixed. just as a simple back up for commuting.
The belt drive looks interesting but are you sure that it is easy to convert to fixed? I can find a lot of people asking how to do it, but nobody actually saying that they have converted one.

Unless you particularly want the belt drive, why not just buy a Specialized Langster which already has the fixed option?

it's easy to convert, just need to buy a surly hub and adaptor from gates. just prefer belt drive to cut down on commuting crap. plus i like the funky look. mind you, when i test ride one it may be rubbish. all the reviews seem positive.

I ride a 2010 Trek Soho every day which I guess is fairly similar to the District - the only slight niggle I have with it is the 'choppy' nature of the ride with the Aluminium fork - I notice that the District has a Carbon fork - this would make it pretty much a perfect commuter imho.

The belt drive is an absolute dream - I get many jealous glances from chain bike riders in the office who constantly battle mucky chain syndrome.

Have you loked at Fixie.Inc and their Peacemaker, which is a fixed belt drive single speed, but without the lugs for guards and a rack.
