Hi Guys,

Been Cycling since christmas.

only been able to get on the bike a few times with the snow/ice/rain. My first big ride was yesterday was 60 miles from treforest to yate, took around 4 hours is this good. what can i do to improve it

Why would anyone want to go to Yate!!!? Had a terrible nightclub I used to frequent in the 80s! :girldance:

Sounds pretty good start if you can do 60 miles already. Wouldn't worry about times to much so soon, the more time you have in the saddle the quicker you'll get anyway. average of 15 miles an hour so quick seems pretty good to me. :thumbsup:

Yeah they reopened it last year and it was back in administration with in 6 months haha!

Good! i wasn't sure if that was fast/slow or just terrible but ill continue to work at it!

Yes, that's good for this time of year. It would take me at least 6 hrs or more to do that, if I could keep going that longxx(^_^
What can you do to improve? Ride, ride, ride.

I got a lift back Via truck as i had lectures at 9am!

Yeah I think just getting use to cycling will help me, maybe just some more common shorter runs could do me good!

Back on topic ... 60 miles - I look forward to the day I manage it - well done.

I'm studying sport science so i'm tempted to adapt my tests to cycling and not running in terms of physical fitness. but clearly the best advice everyone is giving me is to get miles under my belt. approaching 100 miles since i started riding
