I've bought stuff from Tredz online and in the Swansea store, there is always plenty of staff on hand to help and it's a well stocked store. I've always found service to be good.

thanks guys although they're really expensive aren't they, went today and seen a cube attempt triple, really nice bike and as light as a feather, but they even charge for a proper fitment?

Proper fitting to the bike should be part of the included service whether you're spending £500 or £10k IMO. That's part of the reason why people buy their bike from a shop as opposed to online. Ask them to include it in the price of the bike, if they wont then go somewhere else.

Nope. Wouldn't touch them. I call into the Swansea shop occasionally and have never really had good service.

Friend of mine bought a bike from there for his grand-daughter, it was delivered assembled, and he then had to take it straight back to have the handlebars tightened down and the headset tightened.

A colleague bought a bike from there last year and when it was delivered, the forks were fitted backwards (amazing but true). The steerer tube has been cut to the wrong angle as a result, and now the headset bearings need replacing.

Last month I wanted a handlebar-mounted bottle cage. It was shown on Tredz website, and so I called in to the shop. Not in stock, and the bloke I spoke to in there had no idea that a handlebar-mounted bottle cage even existed ! Got one on ebay in the end. Exactly the same as on Tredz website (Oxford make), and only £3.50 incl p+p....in Tredz they were £7 odd.

Yesterday another colleague told me he'd taken his MTB there for a service as the front disc brake wasn't working correctly. Tredz charged him £40 and gave him the bike back with the problem not solved. A mate of his then suggested that he had a contact who could do the repairs for £20. Turns out it was the fitter from Tredz ! Amazingly, my colleague then gave the bike back to him, and he still couldn't fix the problem !!!!!

I needed a new cassette on my touring bike. My Shimano cassette tool burred when I tried to loosen it, so I called into Tredz to ask if they could loosen the lock nut. They could, if I paid them £20 !!! I bought a new Park cassette tool from the internet for around £10 and did the job myself.

Nope. Wouldn't touch them.

I've got to admit i got my hybrid from tredz. now i knew before i ordered it that it wasn't in stock (23" frame) so i understood i'd have to wait as they said 2-3 days from the manufacturer this i gleaned from the handy online chat function...
2 weeks later my bike FINALLY shows up.
initially communication was great but as it dragged on honestly it got worse to the point that i was phoning them asking if it had arrived been built and then sent.

when it finally arrived the box was pretty beaten up and there's a small tear/puncture in the seat. in retrospect i should have said something but i bloody needed the bike by that point and was finally just happy to get it.
i've had to re-tighten the accessories on it (mudguards/rack etc) but that's expected on a new bike. the gears and brakes were set up properly and the seat is the right hight for me, all i had to do was adjust its lateral position (back a bit)

i think on the whole i wouldn't buy from them again because although they initially seemed very attentive they don't in fact have ANYTHING in stock and don't bother telling you so when you order or bother communicating that there is a delay, you have to do all the leg work.
Calibanzwei had a similar experience whilst trying to order bits from them.
i'll stick to others for now methinks.

The only problem I have with Tredz is they never seem to have anything in stock. Whenever I order something online within an hour or so I always seem to receive an email saying there's a delay waiting to stock. If I want something quickly I do not use Tredz.

the handlebar incident may not have been tredz fault as the bikes already come assembled to them, even down to the bars etc. but they should have fully PDI the bike, i just dont like their attitude when i went there the other day..

Ordered a pair of mitts recently. Received 2 emails over the course of a few weeks to say they out of stock but would be in shortly. Arrived after about 3 weeks. Wouldn't rush back to them but wouldn't spurn them altogether either, depending on what I wanted. If I was looking for a bike and fitting though, would probably go elsewhere.
