A lot of crime on the canal. From what I dealt with over the years it'd put me off wanting to live upon it.

The Grand Union near me has lots of barges where people live , but they do seem to live in close proximity, safety in numbers !!
The canal in the pic das some nice views , worth a trundle on a nice day ,

I know that locality well as it's only 12 miles from where I live and I cycle over there and beyond quite a bit.
