I know this question has most likely been asked a million times before, but I sense no harm in asking it yet again. The tyres on my training wheels have now gone completely square and I am noticing come cuts in the tread of the tyre. I would like some replacements that aren't too expensive, and are a puncture resistant tyre, but must be capable of going quite fast, although I do not mind a heavy tyre, as it will just make my training harder and so more beneficial.

Cheers,

You were a fair weather cyclist? Oh ****ing dear:sad::sad::sad:
Why dont you just use your normal tyres you ponce? Or whatever you have near/cheap?
Some £10 Scweble thing on the back of my fixed, and a Gatorskin on the front.
Get some Gatorskins.
And seriously, a heavy tyre? How the **** is a few grammes going to effect anything?
Just strap a few brics to your saddle. Or fill your water bottles with lead.

Because as you already know I have no job, so I can't afford to wear away my pro race 3's on my training wheels, and if I was to use these, every time I wanted ot use my race wheels I would have to swap tyres over.

And a heavy tyre does matter, because the wegith difference you can times by 3.1415 to get the rotational mass, and also I wan't the heavier more puncture resistant tyres as these tend to have some tread - again making my training harder and thus making me faster in races. Please use your brain vefore typing your next response.

Joe24. move away from the thread

You can't go far wrong from Conti ultra gator skins tbh. Fast rolling, last long and wear well. good enough to ride all year round

Cheers Steve! can get them on wiggle for 35 quid a pair so they won't break the bank, and they seem to get some good reviews, and as an added bonus they come in 25's aswell - perfect for my training. Thanks!

Gator skins always get good reviews. I've a big fan of Deda Tre Grintas - Epic cycles do them (but you have to ring them up, no internet ordering) and Ribble do them at a good price too. I rode them all last winter for both commuting and training and had no trouble at all. They are great in the wet, grippy and handle really well. I think they're the same price as the Conti's, maybe even cheaper.

get gatorskins.

That tiny piece of weight will put on less than a second off a TT....but a puncture would put minutes on.

I don't think there is a point paying much extra on weight unless you are as skinny as you can get.

The weight concern is to make it harder for me not easier montage, on my TT wheels I have pro race 3's and so maximuum speed is achieved on those, these tyres are only for training;)
