ive just purchased giant defy 2 and am looking at using it in the turbo trainer, i cant make my mind up to either by a training weel or just go for the tyre??? i was thinking of the weel as i thought if we get any decent weather in winter i could just do a straight swap. any advice on this and cost. or would i be better just getting a cheap bike for the turbo trainer???? any one had a defy ????? the reviews seemed ok??? cheers

I dont even bother FBSTBS....i run a Conti gatorskin on my normal wheel on my turbo with no issues whatsoever.
It may be the a turbo specific tyre gives better traction, but a normal one works fine for me.

I use my ancient and barely roadworthy fixie as a turbo-mule. But you could easily get any old bike, a steel 3 speed with 27" wheels would do the trick or a knackered old racer. The benefit is that it's always ready to roll!
