This week was my last proper training week before London to brighton off road in a little under 2 weeks. I'm really not that sure what to expect but I wanted to put in enough training so its hopefully not too much effort and I can enjoy it.

Did 199 miles this week, all on my mtb. Finished off today with a 'speedy' ish 55 miles round the Surrey hills (my average was just over 11mph but my first ride was 7 so happy with that)

Just really looking forward to it and really pleased to of stuck with the off roading this year as last year was all on road.

Well done - now just enjoy!
I regularly ride at around 12-15mph on the MTB but if I hit an incline I'm back to 8mph (or less!)
I haven't ridden more than 35 miles in one go on the MTB but I'm sure you're well prepared!
Good Luck!

Eleven mph over 55 miles on an MTB is good going.

My group did 70 miles on cycle paths at the weekend.

With a couple of stops, it took us more than nine hours.

Be prepared to have to wait for the others to catch up on the Brighton ride.
