Trailers, trailer connections, and QR wheels - any advice...?

I'm looking at this trailer Erde trailer but have a QR rear wheel. This looks as if the trailer connects to a bracket, mounted on the axle, between the frame, and the QR 'bolt'.

(pic #4 shows the connection)

Can anyone offer an opinion as to whether this would likely be satisfactorily capable of towing up to about 40kg??

I'm loathe to remove the QR axle, and replace with a bolt on, but if it's likely to produce a more reliable connection, then I'd do it!
Thanks

I can't think why qr would be any less reliable than bolt-on - unless there isn't enough protruding thread on the axle to allow for the attachment. That trailer looks cracking good value!

Whats it like riding with a trailer? I can cram my stuff for short camping tours into the panniers but wondered if a small trailer might be better.

Obviously the trailer is added weight when touring. I took mine across to Wales and back a few weeks ago (42 miles if I recall). The handling of the bike is great (apart from the slow acceleration) and for that reason alone if it's just me pottering along I would say I much prefer touring with a trailer than with panniers. I confess I walked up some of the hills, but my bike does only have three gears.

Another thing worth bearing in mind, especially with two-wheeled trailers is you need to watch out for pot-holes and other bumps which might capsize the trailer. That's happened to me twice so far - thankfully no damage done on either occasion.

Here's mine loaded up on the way to Wales.

As you can see, one of the reasons I took the trailer is I was carrying a stupidly large amount of clobber!

I have the same hitch on my bubbas trailer, & their combined weight was well over 45kg last time I towed them in it - I now use the trailer for shopping - no idea what weight I have in it some weeks, but pretty sure it's more than when my bubs where in it!
