New to these (or any) Cycling forums, just some basic questions about clubs/cycling really.

I'm looking at joining a cycling club, but how do I know how fit I am ? I cycle a lot with my friends and we can do 30 miles to 70 miles in a day (depending on weather, terrain etc) Speed etc is again dependant on weather for me.

I see a lot of road cycling clubs but myself much more prefer to go along cycle tracks and trails or very low traffic (if any at all) roads. An example is the Hull to Hornsea cycle path. But are there clubs out there that I'm missing because I can't seem to find a club for tracks and trail cyclists ?

The bike I have is a Carrera Vengeance Ultimate and I live in the Hull area.

If you are doing 30 to 70 mile trips I doubt your fitness would cause you to many problems. As for a local clubs that prefer tracks etc ...? Don't know, maybe seek out the local CTC group. Really any cycling club will have people who like off road stuff.

I've ridden out with the Hull CTC a couple of times & those occasions they rode on mainly quiet roads. Most members in the C (leisurly/slow) group tend to ride road based or touring type bikes. If you can ride upto 70 miles you'll be fine with CTC.

With cyclepaths being a ( comparitively ) recent thing in the UK there aren't many ( or any ? ) clubs of this type yet
Why dont you put a poster up in some local bike shops and see how much interest you get ?... form your own club with your mates
I would definitely be interested if I wasn't the on the opposite coast

Pop into Kingston Cycles in Hessle opposite Boyes, very helpful cycling enthusiasts and will have knowledge of local clubs.
