I no longer have a car with a tow-bar, nor the need for 3 bikes at once, so am selling my Tradekar Silver Bike 3 bike tow-ball mounted bike carrier, fully assembled.
Pros:
  • very solid and well engineered
  • bikes rest on their wheels, not the frame
  • tilt mechanism to allow access through car tailgate
  • very secure fixing of bikes
  • lock onto tow-ball
  • suitable for all types of tow-bar (swan and t'other)
  • number plate holder and lights
  • wheel holders adjustable for different sized bikes
Cons:
  • heavy - 15kg :training:
  • does not fold for storage
  • not the easiest to tilt - a bit fiddly

It's a solid (= heavy ;)) beastie, so prefer Collection only - from Edinburgh (there may be Cake :hungry: ...)

I'm going to be in Leeds next week, 1-3 September, so can bring the rack with me, should anyone from the area be interested.

Also reduced the price :okay:, as it's getting in the way in the garage !

Balls, shame you're in Scotland Scoosh, as looking to get a towbar fitted just for this reason, and would've snapped this off your hands while trying to sell my two bike racks.

Leed's is still too far from Plymouth, which sucks!

Good luck with the sale though.

If you can find a courier or equivalent to collect/deliver it at a cost you are prepared to pay … ~16kg …

I would if I could, but think 16kg will cost a fair whack.

When you say clunky to drop, how clunky though?
Was going to look at some Thule ones. Annoyingly, I missed an acquintance selling one for £60 a while ago

I said this ?

'Clunky' is not a particular word I would use to describe it. Solid, robust - yes; 'clunky' … not really.

It's not the easiest to store but I sit it on the base of my bike stand and that works well enough. :okay:
