Tour Ride - Stoke Stage Today

Any other CC'ers do it? Their literature turned out to be quite far from the truth. They said 105miles and 2000m of climbing, which turned into 111miles and 8000ft of ascent. It came as quite a rude shock .

The weather stayed cold and windy most of the day, but the heavens opened at 3pm, with about 20miles left to run. Got very cold and wet, but it was a great day overall. The organisation and signing was spot on as usual.

Gun Hill was not as bad as I remember and I took 5mins off my previous time (well I was 16st and very unfit at the time, so it wasn't hard to beat).

What did others think of the course and day?

Well done on the ride.
I did the East Anglian ride and the blurb said 57.2 and my GPS reckoned that the distance was 60.02. That nearly 3 miles extra hurt a bit, so I reckon that your extra 6 miles was just as bad.

Yeah, when my Garmin said 105 I was looking for the end, only to see a sign saying 10Km to go.......my riding buddy, who was struggling a bit, was NOT a happy bunny

Saw a load of people doing the stage today pulling up a long hill as we rode down it with mercia CC, you might have seen me in a blue top taking my turn at the front of around 10 riders .
