Hi all,

Couldn't find a thread for this, so sorry if it's already been covered.
[Edit by mod - merged this with an existing thread]

I'm thinking of riding the Scotland tour ride 100 this weekend, route is here-
http://www.tourride.co.uk/scotland/pro100.php#.UjA_VbxnFJk

I've been cycling since May and did my first 100mile 2 weeks ago on a route that was flat as a pancake (Manchester/Cheshire way). Managed a time of under 6 hours, which I'm pretty chuffed about for my first 100.

Does anyone have experience of this area/route? Lots of climbs? Any way of finding out?

Cheers

Only know the roads as far as the 80km mark, it isn't pancake flat, but nothing horrific climbing wise as far as I can remember. There is a profile of the route on the tour ride manual - http://www.tourride.co.uk/files/documents/ScotlandTourRideManual13_v2.pdf

Good time for a first hundred ( or any hundred really)

Doing the 100miler. I am hoping it is a little less hilly than last weekend's Tour of Tweeddale sportive! Weather looks good for it. Light winds. Yippee!

3hrs 44mins for me. Found the second half after Dumfries a bit tough with long drags, really need to loose some weight. There was a bad crash at around 40 miles coming downhill, hope he is ok, but it really focuses the mind. A good day out.

Rubbish I missed this, will def be keeping my eye out on the site for meet ups in Edinburgh area. I am currently cycling about 16 - 20 miles but thats my route over, need to find a route that will take me further.

Did the 100 mile route. Really enjoyed it. Good route, was a bit hillier than I thought it was going to be.

Drumlanrig castle was a pretty spectacular setting for the finish as well.

I'm still recovering from the 50 mile route! The stretch up the hill from 35 miles to about 40 miles was absolute torture, but got round in 3 hours and 3 mins.
