A canny 1-2 for Astana. Froome, Stu and Pinot all attacked at the sharp end but we're easily reeled in.
Tomorrow may show their form more clearly.

Astana going well at the moment with Valgren and Fuglsang in the classics as well.

Looks like Pinot is hitting good form at the right time.

Whatever you think about Froome, he doesn't lack the will to keep attacking. Pinot looks pretty comfortable though.
LLS is another old bloke (unrepentant doper) to have a late career renaissance.

Really interesting final outcome. It seems to me that Pinot has often put himself out of GC contention in races by being caught the wrong side of splits in the peloton and losing time stupidly and needlessly. For this race, he's been up at the business end on every stage and takes the overall win as a result.

Bodes well for the Giro. I'll be rooting for him. Just hope he doesn't lose too much time in the two TT stages...
