Everyone else has got better, in particular Kittel and his train.

I predict Cav will leave them all standing this year as per. He was massively under-firing in the tour last year - he started the race with bronchitis!! That is not something you make a complete recovery from whilst churning your lungs out 6 hours a day. Not sure how many times he has faced off vs the other big names since last July, but it isn't often.

You could be right Montage, but he's got his work cut out versus Kittel.

He'll get better as the season goes on, but he certainly won't have it all his own way. There are more sprinters, both of the pure and strongman type, around at a similar level or getting there than there have been for quite a while right now, and not just Kittel (although he's undoubtedly the best right now), also: Sagan, Greipel, Degenkolb, Boonen, Meersman, Modolo, Viviani, Bouhani, Demare, Coquard... and probably more coming through the ranks. It's a great time for sprinting and I think we'll see some serious battles in the GTs as well as the classics that are more suitable to the sprinters.

Modolo wins another sprint that Cav didn't make it into the mix.
He's certainly keeping his powder pretty dry this year so far!
