Shame we can't see him at this year's ToB but normal service resumed with Cav taking the first stage, although he had to work at it a little accoring to the write up.

He's having one very good year, it's a shame there are not some other big names in the race (sprinters) to give it more credence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well he went onto claim a 3rd stage in Stage 6 and was narrowly beaten on the final stage by Francesco Chicchi.

Won the Sprint Classification with 78 points with the second placed rider having 48points.
