I watched stage 7 yesterday on the box which finished with a bunch sprint involving pretty much the whole field.

About 50m from the line something seemed to get lobbed into the bunch by a spectator - it looked rather like an inflatable hammer - which bounced off the back of one of the riders and then disappeared.

The commentary was in Vlaams so I couldn't really understand what happened - has anyone read anything about this? It seemed really dangerous with the potential to bring down the whole field which was pretty revved up at the time.

I didn't see it on TV but there is no mention of anything wrong happening in the cyclingnews report, so I guess there wasn't a real problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good to see Voigt win again, he seems to be one of the more regular and down to earth riders in the peleton!!!!!!!!!!
