This could kick start Cav's season as most of the big sprinters are absent. Anyone know if he will be doing the ToCal or the Giro? I think he wanted to do the Giro but his sponsors the former.

I hope it does get his winning total off the ground for this year. From reading the report of his ride and misfortune at Milan - San Remo, it seems that some of his form is returning. Can't answer your question about the Giro Rich, as I can't open Cyclingnews to do some research!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure he's doing California from what he said earlier in the year. And Radio Shack aren't even getting an invite to the Giro because their big names are all going to be in California...

Well Cav did pretty well in the very short ITT, only 4 seconds off the pace in 7th place. A win in a sprint stage tomorrow might even give him enough bonus seconds to take the lead.

It was reported on Sky sports news yesterday that Wiggins will not be riding due to a stomach infection.

Well, Cav takes today's stage in a proper sprint. He's still only 90% apparently...

Phew, well done Cav.
I'm not sure of the profile tomorrow - cyclingnews seem to have duplicated today's so I don't know if Cav has a shot at it.

“It was really important for me to win today as this stage is just seven kilometres from my home,” said Tondo after the race. “When I was young I dreamed of winning at the Catalunya, I know these roads very well"
Must be incredible to win a race on your own doorstep.

Roche has started the season really well - I see he's 4th overall.

Jens Voigt takes the 4th stage by sprinting away at the end from his breakaway companion Rein Taaramae. Wth an average speed of 45 Kph for the stage those guys were not hanging around!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
