I always believed that the yellow jersey ( maillot Jaune) was the sole property of the TdF so I must say I am very surprised that they use it too in the ToB. Does anyone know if the Yellow Jersey is actually copy righted? After all, it is pink for the Giro, red for the Vuelta so why can't they choose another colour for the ToB?

You can't copyright the colour of a t shirt.

I don't know the history but I was under the impression that the Giro and the Vuelta chose a different colour to differentiate themselves from the TdF.

I'm sure it could have but when the maillot jeune already has a readily understood meaning, why change it? The ToB is not competing as a Grand Tour.
Ok, I accept that it does make sense.:okay:

On a completely unconnected subject, I only just realised that the ToB logo actually traces the letters ToB. I'd just seen the bike rider before.

I'm not sure whether it's clever or too clever by half....

My goodness,Ive just noticed myself(now that you point it out)-I rather hope were not the last two to do so! Somehow,I never seem to pick up on logos such as this.I too have only ever seen the rider,in point of fact,I never thought much of it as a logo.Probably says more about me than the designer though!
