Its local to me so I feel obliged to head out and watch it, I reckon getting anywhere near the finish on Guildford High Street will be a nightmare, I don't fancy getting there hours before to stand around waiting, so I am thinking of cycling out to Wanborough or Puttenham.

Still have to wait for an hour or so for less than a minutes viewing though.

Anyone got any sugestions for a better spot to view from?

find somewhere they will be going slowly
Even though it's my doorstep, I can't go

We managed to grab a bit of fencing at the start of the pave on Guildford high street by turning up about 3hrs before the race. Good spot, as it was just at the point where Cav kicked for the win, but the standing around was a little dull.

Anyone going out to Coldharbour Lane near Dorking or have been there before for RideLondon or TOB last year got tips to share about best spots?

I'll be going out on the bike and catching them near Woking as they approach Ottershaw - there's a small climb there where they will be a little slower and my mate lives very nearby.

Did the finish at Guildford last year. It was unbelievably rammed on the cobbled finish - we were literally boxed in for 30 mins after the finish, you could not get out. So giving that a miss this year.

And do check the road closures properly. As an aside, my old Rugby Club is playing in Surrey tomorrow and they have no idea how to get about - I have seen several 'eureka answers' and it seems the only safe way is the train.... or maybe they are simply using that as an excuse
