Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone else is doing the tour of Britain stage 5? Its open to the public on the 6th of september and there are 3 different degrees of length.

http://www.thisisstaffordshire.co.u...en-public/article-1209294-detail/article.html

Thinking of putting myself in for it as an incentive to up my training, anyone else doing it? Also is there anyone here from stoke on trent who happens to know how bad the climbs are? There is a course profile but if anyone has any other info it would be good to hear.

Cheers.

'The Tour of Britain stage 5' is a sportive

Yes, you ride the route the Tour will do the following week.

I don't think it's going to be that tough (as a sportive, I mean - it's not the Fred Whitton, but obviously would be difficult if you're only used to cycling 15 miles on the flat)

- a climb from Rocester over past Alton Towers, Gun Hill, some more lumps & bumps
- 2000m in 90 miles

If you have never ridden 90 miles before, but are fit enough to have a go at it, then it should be a good one to do.
