... but it's downhill for about 5k to Moffat (whee ! - and get a speeed check just as you enter Moffat

) past the Beef Tub

and the climb up from Tweedsmuir is not hard.

I've ridden the first part, as far as Moffat during the Moffat Toffee audax earlier this year. Nice route.

The road surface going down to Talla Reservoir is not good - go really easy there.
