Route to be announced at lunchtime today, at the G Live in Guildford (5 minutes walk from where I first read that). No prizes for guessing one of the start/end points, then. And cue six months of moaning about road closures.

A finish up Guildford's cobbled High Street! That will be entertaining. It's a proper gradient, and the cobbles aren't exactly smooth. They're blasting past the end of this road (100m from here) the first time they go through Guildford. Do I watch that and then retire indoors or do I get up early to secure a place on the High Street?

Thats the one route i was hoping they would keep! now i have my decent camera it would have been awesome to catch!

i am contemplating adding part of the devon stage onto my bike ride next week. we're stopping at okehampton so could head south then across and wouldnt add too much time on rather than hitting the north coast!

That's good, a stage start in Nottingham

I'm not a hardened fan of road racing but I enjoy watching it sometimes. I've never seen a start so I shall most probably tootle along, cheer them off and then see if I can get to a point a bit further along the route to gaze in awe as the peloton effortlessly breezes up an incline at 30 mph
