Looks amazing but £55!?!?!!! :heat: No thanks

Looks like a great ride, closed roads really appeals. I've registered anyway.
Will be visiting from down under, bringing the bike and was fortunate to score a place in the London-Sureey 100 ballot on the previous Sunday.
For those of you that have participated in this ride before, do you have any advice, anything I should know?
Staying in Peebles so I am guessing no issues getting to the start hassle free. The town will be busy the day before though - should I pre-book a table for dinner (carb load, preferably a bucket of pasta!)

you'll love this event, its a great ride...watch out on the down hills, i seen a lot of crashes last year, the finish is actually outside Peebles, so you have a wee cycle/walk to get back into town, i don't know what its like in the area on the day and the day before as i drive down to register then drive down for the sportive the next day, the pie/cake stop is amazing, but you have a monster of a climb right after it so make sure the belly isn't to full all it will feel like hell doing the climb

Here is my ride from last year, i got a puncture but still done ok..

Thanks, looking forward to it, hoping for fine weather to be able to enjoy the scenery. That's if I remember to look up! Down hills are always an issue on these larger participation rides, too many wannabe heroes that aren't as skilled as they think they are. Staying out of trouble is a priority, just hope trouble doesn't find me!
