Tour de France TV coverage.

Looking at the first few days scheduling, it looks like there's good coverage and some extras as well; at last, a review programme about last years race for example. Wow! See http://www.itv.com/sport/tourdefrance/default.html

I know it's often been debated here, but personally, I wouldn't bother watching it on TV if the only coverage was eurosport and its amateur presentation and commentary. Duffield's departure won't make it any better or worse imho.

Well, we debate this every year (or more often!) and for my money David Harmon and Sean Kelly (improving with age) are the best commentators available. Not perfect but better than the muppet show of Liggett and Sherwen by a long mountain stage. I dread to think how fawning L & S are going to be with Armstrong back this year. I think we should have a sweep on the number of mentions he gets in each highlight show!

Can't abide Liggett at the best of times, but this year I may have to watch with the sound off...

At least British Eurosport and Eurosport 2 are in widescreen this year . Big plus in their favour I'd say.

Like was said in another thread ITV4 on weekdays has a gap of TBA 7-8pm weekday nights so hopefully this will be filled by a highlights programme.

ITV4 schedules have been updated and on weekday for the first week there is a highlights programme on 7-8pm Monday 6th-Friday 10th July ITV4.
