I did try and Google this, but can anybody point me in the direction of a website showing/comparing the speeds between last year's tour and the Armstrong era times. Cheers.

Here, but average speed over the whole race are misleading because the parcours can be very different from year to year. you need to look either the power outputs, or the average speeds / times for particular comparable stages or mountains. This is why Alpe d'Huez is often used as a comparative. Go here and scroll down to 'Fastest Alpe d'Huez ascents'. See also here for the science of power outputs.
