Today is the longest stage of this tour and is 'lumpy' so the name of Gilbert comes into my reckoning again today. However there is also a chance the sprinters may have another opportunity but the up hill finish again will not please them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All the big names again and as you say Keith, Gilbert. Mind you I don't know how long the finishing ramp is today, I'm just assuming it's similiar to the last uphill finish. I'm wondering if Thor will hold onto Yellow, I hope he will.

Gilbert is 3/1 for today's stage (Bet365)as opposed to the Evens he was for the first stage, so he may not be a raging cert (Cav & Hushovd joint 2nd favs at 13/2). I've backed Fabian EW a couple of times already at big prices, done both him @50's and Vinokourov at 25's (both EW) for today's stage. Surely Cancellara has eyes on a stage, he's not there solely for the Shclecks??

It has just said 22-1 for Goss. That's good. Also I think 40-1 for Evans, depends on how long the uphill ramp is. IF it is a power finish (rather than a typical sprinter finish) 50-1 for Cancellara could be good.

Gessink isn't having a good couple of days is he?

Id like to see a breakaway succeed today. Im getting fed up with the sprinters.

Really? There's hardly been a proper sprint so far...

That was another tough charge, not by any means a mass sprint (yet again), and an excellent job Swift, Thomas and EBH, who just nipped through a diagonal gap before pulling away very strongly.

A good day for Sky all round too, with Ian Stannard getting his first ever pro stage win in the Tour of Austria.

I love EBH as a rider (and he seems like a nice man too), but he is so, so boring in interviews! Apparently he doesn't say very much ever...

Thanks for that news FM

Another exciting finish - don't think I can stand this for another two weeks.

Sky have really improved dramatically this year, plenty stage wins, a GC at the Dauphine. I was also struck by how many good young riders they have on the up and up. G, EBH, Uran and Swift are all a good few years short of their peak. They could be a mighty strong outfit next year.
