Hi .

Had a bit of accident on my old claud bulter. The front derailleur was pulled away from the frame and has caused quite a bit of damage to the paint work.

Anyone got any advice how i could go about finding matching paint and touching it up?

Cheers

No idea, but I would start with contacting the manufacturer and asking them.

I agreewith Brommyboy you could try the Humbrol range from most good hobby or model shops but only flat colours, no good for metallics. Alternatively you could try the automotive rattle cans, but you'll never get a good match. Apart from that a respray might be the only way.

i wheeled mine into halfords and picked up loads of little paint kits and matched them to my frame and then didn't get any as they were too expensive!

Any scratch/chip less than a cm in size gets nail polish on it. It comes in 100s of colours and you can't see it if you are driving past a night at 70mph with sunglasses on. Apply a little, let dry, apply a little, dry and so on until it blends in. If it is more than a cm in size, I guess I will have to wait to repair it until the road rash heals!
Great tip though from my LBS and 100% works.

It's embarrassing buying nail varnish. I went into Boots with a tiny flake of red paint off my frame and the assistant came over and helped me choose a colour very kindly. From her demeanour it was clear she thought she was helping a trannie with a rather poor cover story. Oh well.

But that's mainly cos you were wearing a frock, lippy and high heals at the time
