I am due to get my bike within the next few weeks but I am unsure were to buy it, do I go on the net were bargains abound or do I head to my local LBS were they will measure me up properly set the bike up and get me on my way but, I will probually end up paying more.

I know it seems an obvious choice but, would be interested in your opinions. Thanks

Also has anyone got an opinion as to whether or not it is worth paying the extra 60 or so quid for a giant 3.0 fs w in opposed to the 4.0 fs w

Thanks

Unless you're really strapped for cash I'd go to the LBS. They'll make sure you buy the right size and should set it up specifically for you. Mine will also give you a ladies saddle instead of a gents if you're buying a gents bike (which many of us girls do). You wouldn't get this buying it online. It's also easy to pop back to the LBS if you have any problems.

Hi Louise - I just had a quick scan on Giant's site and it looks like the 3.0 and 4.0 fsw bikes are last season's models - which means you should get a bit of discount at your LBS plus good customer service!

The advantage over buying from the LBS is that you build up a relationship with them and they occasionally throw in something free if you are lucky (not expensive things but the gesture is appreciated).

Or, depending on your LBS, you may get poor service and pay extra for it.

Finding the right LBS is just as important as finding the right bike.
