Hi,

Santa has got me a topeak rack wrapped up for christmas...

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_231835_langId_-1_categoryId_236256

I have just been looking into getting a matching bag that slides on, but there is some confusion about what is compatable with it, as there are DX, EX and RX bags (as well as DXP, EXP)

I thought that any bag with the slide on track would be compatable...Am I right?

PLEASE only reply if you KNOW, Im not looking for speculation or "Yeah, should be OK" replies.

Cheers, Paul.

Well, I have the same rack and the MTX - DXP bag. Also have the MTX beam rack (which is cr@p IMO)

If you look on their site, they have two types of "Trunk Bag": MTX and RX. The MTX has a narrow plate, compared to the RX. By the looks of your Halfords link it looks like you have an MTX compatible rack.

According to Wiggle you should NOT mix MTX and RX. So you'll want one of these bags.

Wot ^^ he ^^ said.

The RX and MTX racks / bags are not compatible, with the MTX designed to take greater weight. The EX is a lower-cost version of the MTX. Within each range, you have A-type, E-type and V-type, which basically relates to the angle of the neck for different height seat posts.

I have an MTX rack, which I've been using for carrying some pretty heavy stuff over the past 6 months, and I've been very impressed with it. Solid and stable, it moves quickly and easily between bikes and kinda does exactly what I wanted it to do when I bought it.
