By virtue of me being a carboot fanatic, ive picked up both of these brand new for £1 each, albeit minus their mounts, but thanks to Smoking Joe, i now have a mount.
So i thought i'd try them out side by side.
I'm not sure if the SKS is still available, but size wise, they're almost identical.

The Topeak has the clamping lever which worked well as opposed to the SKS which just presses onto the valve, I usually slightly undo the plastic nut, press the pump onto the valve then tighten the plastic nut to clamp the rubber to the valve. I did notice the SKS (without the clamping lever) was prone to passing air when pumping unless you get the thing very tight on the valve. You really have to clamp it on tight.

250 strokes of the pump...and those last 50 get harder and harder to inflate from flat to really quite hard. Both pumps were almost identical for strokes needed, No surprise, their size is the same.

What i did find was the Topeak was much easier to clamp onto the wheel with your fingers while pumping. The SKS is tapered, and while its ok, the Topeak was easier. to use.

I can't say how many PSI i managed, the tryes were more than acceptable but obviously not as well inflated as much as a frame or track pump...but thats the nature of the beast.

The Topeak wins in my book but only for easier handling. Both inflated the tyre equally (pressure and strokes required)

Its nice to test things side by side. Then you see the plus's and minus's of each one.
