Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DX with Side Panniers

If anyone has one of these bags could they measure the size of the side pannier when dropped down? Trying to work out if i can get my laptop in there!

Failing that i'll try and find one locally and physically have a go!!

Just nipped out to the garage and measured mine its 12"x10"

If the laptop is much bigger than A4 (i.e. 12 inches) it won't fit. I regularly have files in mine, but A4 is the limit.

That's a shame, my laptop is 12.5" x 9.5". Hacksaw it is then!!

I think they do larger sizes of bag than the MTX DX, but not sure if the panniers increase in size with them though.

I'm at work and restricted to mobile access at the moment but I'm sure my DX bag will take unfolded newspapers, so a small laptop would be no problem.

My HP 6530b goes in OK, inside a padded sleeve which increases its dimensions somewhat.

Anything bigger would be a struggle.

Mine is slightly smaller width wise, a tiny bit bigger depth wise so should fit fine i think. Thankyou

check my post though - make sure it's the same bag - i think the one I have could be bigger than the one you mentioned.

I think you might have a different bag, Fossy (possibly the EXP?) as my MTX DXP will take A4 with a several inches to spare.

My laptop is approximately 37cm x 26cm (14.5" x 10") and it fits snugly. Not a huge amount to spare but it fits. That is, of course, as long as you have the same MTX DXP.
