I've got some very nice Campagnolo top tube cable clips but they are missing the fixing nut and bolt. Does anyone know what size I require please? Never quite sure how to measure diameter of threaded bolts. These are not threaded so a simple stainless steel nut and bolt will do.

measure the size of hole to go through, and if that is about 5mm then it will be then the nut and bolt will be M5 and if it is 4mm it will be M4
(M4.5 and M5.5 are available but very very rare) and I very much doubt it is imperial

I bought a pack of assorted stainless bolts and nuts from Amazon quite cheaply. They have been very handy and have been good for various bolt refreshes on my bikes.

If you Google Campagnolo cable clips you can find lots of images including this one with some dimensions on it which, if these are the right things, leads me to agree that A, they are indeed diddy and B, they are probably M2

M2 woud be stupidly small - model engineering stuff (although they would be on BA)
Just going by the pixels in the image 34.9mm is 267 pixels and the major diameter of the thread is 29 pixels
this would suggest the dia of the thread is 3.79mm
M4 major Diameter will be a tad under 4mm - my guess M4

These take zero load, zero. Can measure soon.
And definitely using nyloc nuts (per image, which are NOT Campagnolo but an imitation) on these is a fail (drops the OP's "very nice Campagnolo top tube cable clips" to 'nice-but').

I agree that nyloc nuts would look trés grotesque, not sure where to find those fancy little ones they came with though, aren't they shaped with a neat taper one side?

how have you measured that, it doesn't look like M3
the clip looks a little springy, doubt you need a nyloc, the springyness of the clip should be enough, stick a bit of glue on before tightening for a bit of belts and braces - any glue will probably do, wouldn't buy threadloc esp

Suggest disbelief @Marchrider if worth sharing is best based on reasonable doubt. Yours isn't.
I have precisely the item referred to in the OP and put a caliper on the thread you can see in the image. 2.89mm
NB The bolt needed will (obv) nut be 12mm but icba to measure that too, maybe 6mm (my top tube is 1" OD btw; clearly longer bolt needed if the OP's top tube larger).
